Tips To Reduce Facial Wrinkles

Droopy, saggy, wrinkled skin looks cute on pugs, but the same cannot be said for humans, as these unwanted creases and folds usually come saddled with increasing age. Wrinkles are perhaps the most inevitable signs of ageing, which surface as deep lines on the face and are extremely unflattering to one’s beauty. Wrinkles can amaze you with the way they gradually creep into your face, leaving you freaked out at times. While there is no known remedy to avert this ageing skin woe, sometimes a quick fix like Botox and generous slathering of anti-ageing creams can do the trick for you. It goes without saying how a good diet, plenty of sleep and a little bit of extra skin care can save you the laugh-lines and crow’s feet. An early skin care is indeed the way to beat this beauty bummer, but a late start too can help you avert wrinkles for good. To check out a few tips on how to reduce facial wrinkles, read on.

How To Reduce Facial Wrinkles

Sunscreen Magic!
Wrinkles can get you raiding the market shelves for that quick-fix anti-ageing creams that never comes cheap. Why spend big on expensive creams and lotions, when something as simple as sunscreen can save your day and keep the wrinkles away. Sun is one of the major reasons that causes our skin to age prematurely. Just pick up a hydrating sun block with high SPF content and slather it generously over your face, before you go out into the sun.

Splash Well!
While cleansing your face every day is a must, rinsing it well is twice as essential. Remember to rinse off all traces of cleanser from your face, at the time of washing, as any soapy leftovers of cleansers on your skin can dry it up and cause it to age before time. To beat the ageing blue, take care to wash your face well every time you foam.

Humidify It!
Long hours in air-conditioner or heater can leave your skin squeezed out of moisture, making it feel parched and dry, thereby accelerating ageing. Thus, it is important to have a humidifier around to retain the moisture in the air and save your skin from wilting away before time.

Kick The Habit!
While ageing is inevitable, habits like alcohol and smoking often causes one to look much older than one’s age. Alcohol strips off the skin of all its moisture, leaving it dehydrated and worn out. Smoking too causes the skin to wrinkle by breaking skin elasticity and developing lines, wrinkles and age spots all over the face. To prevent the horror, kick the habit now.

Think Before You Choose!
Almost all of us unthinkingly pick our creams, lotions and moisturizers without little care or contemplation over what actually goes into it. Most creams come laden with multitudes of harmful chemicals like Parabens and Mineral oil that not only damages the skin, but also exposes one to the risk of skin cancer. Anti-ageing skin comes loaded with collagen, which are often too big to be absorbed by the skin. Thus, most of it goes unused by the skin. Before grabbing a jar of anti-ageing cream next time, don’t forget to check out for the contents.

Go Natural!
No amount of skin moisturizers and anti-ageing creams can benefit your skin the way natural ingredients can and it is a pity to see how few people actually resort to natural means to restore youth in their skin. You can use avocado oil instead of expensive creams to smooth the age lines and keep your skin supple. Almond oil and olive oil are equally good bets for fighting wrinkles.

You have grown up hearing that smoking is injurious to health, but did you know that smoking is equally damaging for your skin? Smoking ejects large amount of free radicals that breaks down collagen and elastin in the skin and causes it to wrinkle.

Smile More, Frown Less!
Did you know that frowning, squinting and puckering can cause our skin to crease much faster than you had ever imagined? Wrinkling your brows, eyes and even your lips every off and on causes the facial muscles to overwork, thereby forming grooves. So, the best would be to smile more and frown less, for better looking, age-defying skin.

Lie Straight!
Sometimes something as simple as your sleeping position can cause your skin to furrow. Wonder how! Sleeping on your side or upside down often leads to the formation of sleeping lines that gets etched on the skin. The best way to avert those unwanted lines and creases is to rest on your back. The more your face is in contact with pillow, the higher the chances of developing wrinkles faster.

Say ‘NO’ To Sun!
We all love to soak up sun, but most often this sunny indulgence costs our skin dearly! Sun is known to do more harm than good to our skin and is one of the major reasons behind those age lines. It’s important to shun the sun as much possible, especially from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., when the sun rays are harshest. Don’t forget to slather generous amount of sunscreen with the right SPF content, before stepping out in the sun. Also, it is important to gear your eyes and carry an umbrella every time you step out.

Feed Your Skin!
Moisturizing and exfoliating your skin keeps wrinkles away! Feed your skin with dollops of hydrating moisturizer each day to slow ageing and flaunt a radiant skin. It is equally important to exfoliate, as it tends to eliminate the dead dry skin, leaving you with softer, healthy skin. Don’t forget to pamper your skin with a nourishing cream or lotion after scrubbing.

Doze Off To Health!
Now, here’s good news for the snoozers! It’s proven that eight hours of sleep can banish all your beauty woes, leaving you look great and young for long. When asleep, the body releases high growth hormones that are known to boost skin elasticity. Lack of sleep can cause your skin to wince with wrinkle and form dark circles. So, don’t forget to indulge in eight hours of sleep every day to look and feel good.

Eat Right!
You will be surprised to see how eating right can maximize your skin health, leaving you looking young and glowing for days to come. Nothing pampers your skin better than the right kind of food. A nutritious diet, stacked with vitamins, minerals and proteins, is the best cure to keep the ageing away. It’s equally important to guzzle gallons of water to keep the skin hydrated from within. So, eat and drink right to be a total head-turner and keep signs of ageing away!

Makeup Blues!
You will be surprised to know how makeup can quicken ageing! Makeup blocks the skin, giving it little freedom to breathe. Sleeping with makeup on is possibly one of the biggest beauty sins that deserve to be dumped. Blush and tone your features only when going out for a special evening or event. Allow your skin some room to breathe. It will love you for that!

How To Minimize Fine Lines And Wrinkles

No one likes to see the telltale signs of aging rearing their ugly heads. Most people will go to any lengths, even surgery, to keep their skin wrinkle free and firm. It is not impossible to achieve wrinkle free skin without going under the knife. Even though there are lots of solutions available in the market, it would be best if you first understand how wrinkles and fine lines form. Processing this knowledge may also help you with your decision on what solution you would like to choose to battle wrinkles. The most common cause of wrinkles is the advancement in age. It is something that everyone has to face and is caused by the loss of collagen and elastin from the skin. While elastin is responsible for the skin being stretchable, collagen is what gives the skin the appearance of youth by providing skin with structure and strength. Other causes could range from extended exposure to the sun, smoking, stress and pure neglect.

Reducing Fine Lines And Wrinkles
Reducing fine lines and wrinkles can be achieved at home too with the application of these simple tips.
  • To maintain the health of skin it is essential that you drink lots of water. This helps keep the skin hydrated and healthy for longer periods of time.
  • Since prolonged exposure to the sun can also cause the skin to lose elastin, you should use sunscreen or sun blocks when you step out into the sun.
  • You can also use creams like Retin-A and Differin to prevent wrinkles. These creams are rich in vitamin A and can be applied at night just before going to bed.
  • Using antioxidant creams that contain vitamins C, vitamin E and coenzyme Q10 can help a lot in preventing wrinkles formed by exposure to pollution and stress.
  • Using herbal creams that contains chamomile can also help in preventing wrinkles. Chamomile is good for the skin because it helps negate the harmful effects of exposure to toxins.
  • You can also use some home remedies like treating the wrinkles with a paste made by mixing turmeric powder in sugarcane juice. Apply the paste on the area with wrinkles, leave to dry for 15 minutes and then wash off with cold water.
  • If you are feeling as though you are under a lot of stress, then take a break to rejuvenate your strength and relax a little. Always remember, stress can cause wrinkles to appear even between the ages of 20 and 30 years.
  • Keep your diet healthy and nourishing and avoid junk food as it has practically no nutritional value. Try to eat food rich in proteins, like fish, eggs and vegetables.
  • If you are a smoker then it would be good if you stopped smoking since it too leads to wrinkled skin.
  • Try to remain active and not lazy. Staying active slows down the aging process and helps delay the onset of wrinkles.
Following these tips will not only help you minimize fine lines and wrinkles, but will help improve the way you see yourself and get you to lead a healthier lifestyle.

  • Remove your feet from the tub and pat them dry using a thick, clean towel. Fill another tub with clean warm water and dunk your feet in it.
  • Using a pumice stone, gently buff off the dead skin, working primarily on your heels, big toe, toe pads, and balls of your feet. Rinse the feet with clean water and pat dry.
  • Take dollops of moisturizing lotion and gently massage your foot, stroking it gently and working your way towards the heels, in between the toes and arch of the foot.
  • Using a cuticle stick and gently push each toenail's cuticles back. Now take a nail clipper and trim the nails straight. File the nails gently to make a smooth curve.
  • Take some more lotion and generously slather your feet with it. Put on thick socks and wait for the lotion to get completely absorbed. Take off the socks after couple of hours to get soft, supple and squeaky-clean tootsies.
